Some things you can’t think your way out of. The drinking that got away from you. The anger that lands on people who don’t deserve it. The alertness that keeps you safe at work and now won’t switch off at home.
I work with adults facing addiction, trauma and anger, including people whose work has exposed them to critical incidents. I also work with adults who are neurodivergent or suspect they might be.
I’m direct, and I don’t dance around hard conversations. We’ll get honest about what’s actually happening, then we’ll do the work of changing it.
How I can help
Addiction & recovery
Drinking, drugs, gambling, gaming, and the behaviours that grow around them. I know how destructive it is, and I know what's on the other side of it. We start where you actually are, whether you’re thinking about stopping, newly sober, or years in and finding it harder than you expected.
Trauma & PTSD
Hypervigilance, intrusive memories, sleep that doesn't restore, numbness that spreads into everything. Sometimes it’s one event you can point to. Often, it’s built up over years of events that most people never see. We go at a pace that keeps you steady, and you decide what gets said out loud.
Anger
When it’s cost you a relationship, a job, or the trust of the people you care about. If you’ve apologized for the same thing more than once, that’s a pattern we can look at together. We’ll work on what’s driving it, not just on counting to ten or breathing more.
I also work with anxiety and stress, with first responders, and with adults navigating the unique challenges of neurodivergence (especially if you’re late diagnosed or starting to wonder). If you're not sure whether I'm the right fit, schedule a free consultation on my booking page and let’s talk.
Who I am
My own recovery is what set me on this path. I have the utmost respect for the people I work with, and my approach is candid. I like to face challenges head-on and provide strength and support to meet them. You don’t have to do it alone, and you shouldn’t.
I hold a Master of Social Work from McMaster and am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW).

No. Most of my clients meet with me by video from anywhere in Ontario, and you don’t even need to wear your Zoom shirt. If you’d rather meet in person, my office is near Appleby Line and the QEW, a short drive from Hamilton, Oakville and Milton.

You book a free 15-minute consultation. This can be by video or by phone. We talk about what’s going on and what you’re looking for. There’s no obligation to book a session with me afterward and there’s no pressure either way.
-
We talk. I'll ask what brought you here and what you'd like to be different, and you tell me as much or as little as you want to. There's no couch, no analysis, and nothing you have to disclose in the first hour. By the end we'll usually have a rough sense of what we're working on, and you can decide whether to book another.

Usually weekly at the start. As things stabilize we’ll start spacing out the sessions. Some clients see me every two weeks, some once a month.
Fees, insurance, and what a first session actually looks like.
Reaching out is often the hardest part, especially if you’re used to holding it in and going it alone. You don’t need to have it sorted out before we talk, and you don’t need the right words.
